FQD Series – Liquid‑Cooled Three‑Phase Induction Motor / Generator

The FQD series comprises liquid‑cooled three‑phase induction motors and generators. They are designed for high dynamic operation over a wide speed range and are characterised by high power density with a compact footprint. The liquid cooling (IC 71W) enables high continuous torque at low speeds and allows the motor to operate in dusty or humid environments without the need for an external fan. The rotor is a standard squirrel‑cage design suitable for direct on‑line starting or inverter operation (FQDi variant). Stator windings are available with Class F or Class H insulation, and the housing is made of cast iron or welded steel depending on the frame size. The motor can be supplied in various mounting configurations (IM B3, IM B5, IM B35) and is available with optional forced ventilation (IC 416) for applications requiring even higher power density. The FQD series is used in test bench drives, injection moulding machines, wheel hub drives, shredders, and marine propulsion systems.
