SonicTC acoustic control system is a new generation system for innovative, environmentally friendly and 100% non-destructive quality control of any workpieces, which is based on the acoustic resonance method (sound testing). Samples or blanks are reliably evaluated by comparing them with programmed “clean” samples. The new SonicTC system contains proven and reliable features from previous SR20AT test systems that have been optimized and supplemented to expand control capabilities.

Calipers and pendants

All components of the brake system (disc, caliper, holder and gaskets) must be coordinated so that the resonant frequencies of one part do not interfere with other components. Otherwise, the brakes may be jammed and make unpleasant sounds. For testing calipers and holders, it is necessary that the test bench allows testing the right and left side of the caliper or suspension with a minimum switching force. RTE has developed a test bench that allows testing with two mounts. For various types of components, the part retainer (carrier) can be replaced with another.

Brake discs

The brake discs have a smooth surface against which the brake pads are pressed. Calipers provide a place for hydraulic pistons that press the pads against discs or drums.

All parts must be tuned / matched with respect to the natural vibration frequency of the entire brake system in order to avoid noise and vibration. The requirements for brake system components are defined in the EKB 2002 Technical Standard of the European Group of Experts on Noise of Brake Systems, which manufacturers of components and discs of brake systems must adhere to.
