The company was formed in 2003 through merger and reorganization of several CNPC drilling and completion businesses. It provides integrated engineering and technical services from well design to completion. GWDC operates a large fleet of drilling rigs and offers onshore and offshore drilling solutions. The company has business presence in 18 provinces in China and more than 28 countries worldwide. It focuses on drilling, directional drilling, mud logging, cementing, fracturing, and well completion. GWDC is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC).
