BA‑BAX Series Brake Motor (AC brake motor)

The BA‑BAX series is MGM’s most widely used brake motor range, featuring an AC brake with rapid response times and high braking capacity. Available with frame sizes from 71 to 315 mm, power ratings from 0.04 to 132 kW, and 2, 4, 6, 8 poles (single speed) or dual‑speed configurations. The BAX series offers IE2/IE3 efficiency (compliant with EU 2019/1781) for continuous duty (S1), while the BA series is available in ‘Enhanced Power’ (EP) version for intermittent duty. Standard protection is IP54 (IP55 on request), insulation class F. The motor housing is aluminium for frame sizes up to 132 mm and cast iron for 160–315 mm (cast iron optionally available for 100, 112, 132 mm). The brake features a laminated magnetic core for reduced losses and extremely fast response. Standard features include manual brake release, hexagonal hole for manual rotation, and cCSAus, CCC, and EAC certifications on request.
