Mullite-siliceous wool MKRR-130 is a white mullite-siliceous fiber with very low thermal conductivity, produced in rolls, easily torn, has a service temperature of up to 1100°C, and an average density of 130 kg/m3. Applications: Production of thermal insulation boards, paper, and various molded products; Packing expansion joints in furnaces and other heating units; Lining troughs and pipes for pouring and transporting liquid metals; Thermal insulation of gas turbines; Insulation of superheated steam pipelines; Thermal insulation of mixers, converters, and air heaters in metallurgical plants. Pros and cons of MKRR-130 wool: Resistant to vibration, inert to water, steam, oils, and acids; Has high electrical insulation properties; Not wetted by liquid metals. The thermal conductivity of kaolin wool depends on the temperature and compaction of the fiber during its installation. With compaction of the wool, i.e., with a decrease in pore size, thermal conductivity at high temperatures decreases due to reduced heat transfer by radiation and convection. Resistant to temperature in oxidizing and neutral environments; Unstable in reducing and aggressive environments.
