Description:
ZPU consists of a cylindrical body equipped with threaded fittings designed to connect the ZPU to the cylinder and siphon tube (lower nipple), to connect a starting device (upper nipple), as well as to release (supply) GOTV for extinguishing. Threaded holes are made in the housing to accommodate a manometer, a membrane safety device (MPU), connecting a pneumatic start line and a pressure signaling device.
Overview:
Inside the housing there is a locking element made in the form of a piston with side (ring) and end seals, capable of moving under the influence of the pressure difference of the medium along the axis of the housing. Preliminary compression of the piston is provided by a spring. In the lower part of the locking element there is a overflow valve made in the form of a steel ball in a calibrated hole connecting the cavities above and below the locking elements.

In the upper part of the ZPU, a starting valve is installed, which opens when exposed to a starting device installed in the upper fitting of the ZPU.

The principle of operation of the locking trigger

SIEX-HC modules are equipped with 3 types of ZPUs:
  • - RGS-MAM-20;
  • - RGS-MAM-20-25;
  • - RGS-MAM-40.

The locking and starting device is intended for:

  • - Sealing module
  • - Protection of the module from destruction when the pressure inside the cylinder increases above the permissible value;
  • - Release (supply) GOTV from the module when a control pulse (electric, pneumatic, mechanical) is applied to any of the starting devices;
  • - Refueling the module with gas extinguishing agent.

In standby mode (the module is charged with GOTV, the shut-off element and the start valve are closed), under the vapor pressure of the GOTV and (or) propellant gas, there are cavities above and below the shut-off element. Equal pressure is ensured by an open overflow valve. The sealing force, which ensures that the mechanical seal is pressed against the housing seat, is created due to the difference in the areas affected by the vapor pressure above and below the closure element. In this case, the receipt of the GOTV from the cylinder to the outlet fitting is absent.

When the starting device is triggered by the force from the starting element, the starting valve opens and due to depressurization of the upper cavity, the pressure drops above the shut-off element. The flow that appears causes the overflow valve to lock, preventing gas from replenishing the cavity above the shut-off element. The locking element is moved to its highest position by gas pressure from the cylinder cavity. GOTV stored in the cylinder enters through the siphon tube to the outlet fitting and then to the pipeline.

Membrane safety device. Designed to protect the module from destruction with increasing pressure GOTV above the permissible limit. MPU is located on the side surface of the housing of the ZPU. Parameters and design are presented in the Maintenance Maintenance Manual.

Manometer showing. Designed for visual control of the pressure value GOTV (propellant gas) in the module. Located on the side surface of the housing of the ZPU. The accuracy class of the pressure gauges used is at least 2.5. The design of the socket for installing the pressure gauge allows the removal of the latter for replacement or periodic inspection.
