The compensator PGVU (decoding dust-gas-air-resistant) is designed to compensate for deformations that occur in dust and gas ducts when the temperature of the media passing through them changes.
Overview:

Design and characteristics of the PGVU lens compensator

At first glance, the lens compensator is very simple in design and consists of two branch pipes connected by flexible elements (lenses), the number of which determines the compensating ability of the compensator. To protect the lenses from damage when media containing abrasive particles pass through them, a protective shell is provided in the design of the compensator. When changing the internal passage of the compensator from small to large diameters, the compensating ability of one lens can vary from ±14 to ±18 mm.

The lens is made of a cold-rolled sheet 1 mm thick, while its height, according to the PGVU drawings, is 75 mm.

Compensator manufacturing material: st.3sp5, st.09G2S, st.08(12)X18H10T, 10X17H13 M2T.

Working pressure up to 0.02 MPa.

Operating temperature up to +425 degrees Celsius.

Depending on the diameters ordered, the lens production process is different, so diameters up to DN 400 mm are made from two stamped half-lenses, and larger diameters are made from one-piece lenses that are rolled to the required size (this process can be compared with the rolling of sheets on rollers, in which gradually workpiece diameter decreases).

Scope: PGVU compensators are used in various industries, such as metallurgy, gas, chemical, housing and communal services and other related industries where technological pipelines and pipeline systems are used.

According to the method of fastening to the pipeline, PGVU lens compensators are made in two versions: version 1 - for welding, version 2 - flanged.

version 1 - welded fastening for rigid fixation of the compensator to a pipeline of round or other cross section by welding the end of the pipeline with the end parts of the compensator having the same cross section and wall thickness, or welding the lens itself, which has a smaller thickness, to the elements of pipeline fittings. This type of fastening provides a reliable hermetic connection of the compensator.
version 2 - flange mounting of the compensator for rigid fixation to the mating flange of the pipeline. Such fastening allows for a detachable connection of pipeline elements and their quick replacement, but requires control of the wafer seal.

Depending on the geometric dimensions of the gas duct, there are: round lens compensator PGVU and lens rectangular PGVU compensator.

Round lens compensator PGVU

The PGVU round compensator is used on round dust and gas ducts with pressure up to 0.02 MPa. According to typical drawings, there are:

  • single-lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 242-76, PGVU 242-86, PGVU 242-92;
  • two-lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 243-76, PGVU 243-86, PGVU 243-92;
  • three- lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 244-76, PGVU 244-86, PGVU 244-92;
  • four-lens compensator PGVU - 245-76, PGVU 245-86, PGVU 245-92;

Production of non-standard lens compensators according to customer's drawings is possible.

Rectangular lens compensator PGVU

Rectangular compensator PGVU is used on rectangular dust and gas ducts with pressure up to 0.02 MPa. According to typical drawings, there are:

  • single-lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 246-76, PGVU 246-86, PGVU 246-92;
  • two-lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 247-76, PGVU 247-86, PGVU 247-92;
  • three- lens compensator PGVU - PGVU 248-76, PGVU 248-86, PGVU 248-92;
  • four-lens compensator PGVU - 249-76, PGVU 249-86, PGVU 249-92;

The main advantages of PGVU lens compensators include:

  • low cost of the product in comparison with analogues;
  • small mass of the finished product;
  • the ability to compensate for both axial and shear displacements;
  • do not require additional maintenance.

Transportation of lens compensators

For the safe transportation of lens compensators, rigid packaging of the product is used, in which transport fasteners are welded onto the compensator, which makes it possible to completely exclude damage to the compensator lenses. If the PGVU expansion joint cannot be transported due to its large size, then such expansion joints are divided into separate parts in accordance with PGVU 320-92 (“breakdown of oversized expansion joints into transportable blocks”). This division has no effect on performance.

Installation of lens compensators

If technologically possible, it is desirable to mount expansion joints on finished units or blocks before lifting them to the required position.

Lens expansion joints PGVU must be pre-stretched to half their compensating capacity after welding (for welded version of expansion joints) or final connection on flanges (for flanged version of expansion joints), while all supports and hanger blocks must be pre-mounted on the pipeline. To stretch the compensator, it is necessary to tighten the nearest mounting joint, which has a special additional gap, using clamps or special ones. After mounting the compensator on the pipeline, it is compressed, but this occurs before the dust and gas duct is fixed in fixed supports.

When designing a pipeline with several compensators, fixed supports must be installed on each side of the compensator, excluding shear displacement of the pipeline.

During the installation of lens compensators, it is necessary to protect the lenses of the compensators from mechanical damage, and also to monitor the alignment of the compensator nozzles, which should be within 2 mm. After installing the expansion joints, additional stiffeners should be removed.

Thanks to modern equipment and highly qualified personnel, the production of lens compensators takes two working days. Our plant produces any PGVU lens compensators , both unified and according to customer's drawings.

The price of a lens compensator is calculated depending on the internal passage of the compensator, as well as the number of lenses and the medium passing through the carrier (aggressive or not).
