The new medium multipurpose helicopter Ka-62 is designed using the latest global achievements in the aviation industry. Ka-62 meets Russian and international airworthiness standards (AP-29, CS-29, JAR-OPS3), operational rules for offshore operations, international standards for reliability, service life, flight safety, comfort conditions, technical operation and maintainability. Ka-62 is equipped with two Ardiden 3G turboshaft engines with a capacity of 1,776 hp manufactured by the French company SAFRAN HE. Due to the modular design and dual-channel electronic digital engine control system (FADEC), these engines are highly reliable, easy to use and have exceptionally low fuel consumption. The helicopter is equipped with a "glass cockpit" developed by Transas. Ka-62 is built according to a single-rotor scheme with a multi-blade tail rotor in the annular channel of the vertical tail unit. It has a five-bladed main rotor, a second hydraulic circuit, a high-capacity wheeled chassis, a reinforced fuselage structure and main unit mounting points, and shock-absorbing seats for the crew and passengers. It is planned that more than 50% of the rotor blades and airframe will be made of polymer composite materials. The Ka-62 is designed for cargo transportation, emergency medical care, aerial work and surveillance, it can be used in the oil and gas industry, for rescue operations and corporate needs.
