The Ural Automobile Plant (founded in 1941) is the main asset in the structure of the Trucks division of the GAZ Group. The Ural Automobile Plant is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of all-wheel drive heavy-duty vehicles, occupying about 35% in this segment.

About the Ural Automobile Plant

Currently, the Ural automobile plant produces:

• all-wheel drive trucks with wheel arrangements 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 with a carrying capacity from 4 to 20 tons;
• road trucks for use on hard-surface roads with wheel arrangements 4x2, 6x4, 8x4 with a load capacity from 9 to 25 tons – truck tractors, dump trucks;
• shift buses based on all-wheel drive Ural vehicles with 4x4 and 6x6 wheel arrangements (for 22-30 passengers), cargo-passenger vehicles based on them, including those equipped with a hydraulic manipulator.

The Ural Automobile Plant is constantly working to expand its model range. High cross-country ability, high load capacity, reliability, and ease of maintenance have made Ural vehicles indispensable equipment for various industries and agriculture. Large oil and gas companies and construction organizations predominate among customers.

The dealer network of the Ural Automobile Plant includes about 80 points of sale and service of automobiles.

In 2023, the automobile plant began implementing a five-year investment program worth 20 billion rubles. Its key facility is a new assembly shop with a second conveyor for 5.5 thousand cars per year, which is planned to be commissioned on January 1, 2025. This will increase the volume of car production by 30%.

About the products of the Ural Automobile Plant

The main distinguishing feature of the Ural family of vehicles is their high level of cross-country ability. The ability to move off-road is provided by a powerful engine, a special design of the drive axles, a centralized air regulation system in the tires and a number of other design features. Ural vehicles are capable of moving on virgin snow up to 1 m deep, overcoming a ditch up to 1.2 m wide, driving over a vertical wall 0.55 m high, and overcoming a ford 1.75 m deep.

Miass trucks operate effectively at ambient temperatures from -50 to +50°C, have high maintainability and are designed for garage-free storage.

Several hundred models of special equipment are mounted on the chassis of Ural vehicles: shift buses, overhead cranes, tank trucks, fuel trucks, fire trucks, repair shops, various units for the oil and gas and forestry complex, mining industry and public utilities. The Ural family of vehicles has a high degree of unification in units and components, which allows reducing the costs of maintenance and operation.
