The Compressor plant in 1877 was founded by Vladimir Stepanovich Baranovsky together with Peter Viktorovich Baranovsky.

The plant’s products are used in the rocket and space complex, where it is used for pneumatic testing of equipment for launch vehicles and ground systems, for controlling valves of refueling systems and individual mechanisms of launching devices, and for ventilation of strategic mines. Compressor stations with a pressure of 40 MPa were developed taking into account all the requirements and the latest developments in the field of compressor engineering and were installed at the Baikonur, Plesetsk, and Vostochny cosmodromes on the Sea Launch floating platform.

The products of the Compressor plant have found application in large energy, including nuclear. Products of the plant are used at Beloyarskaya, Novovoronezh, Leningrad, Kalinin NPPs, deliveries were made for NPPs in India and Iran. The first floating nuclear power plant is equipped with compressors of our production.

The traditional consumer of the products of the Compressor plant is the Russian Navy, for which low-noise compressors of high reliability, small dimensions, low vibration levels are manufactured, which is achieved by using special tools developed by the factory design bureau. At present, there is practically no domestic surface or submarine ship on which compressors manufactured by Kompressor OJSC would not be installed. They are equipped with world-famous research vessels: Academician Korolev and Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, icebreakers Sibir, Arctic, 50th Anniversary of Victory, major tankers, space communications vessels, aircraft carriers and cruisers such as Admiral Gorshkov "and" Peter the Great ", destroyers, minesweepers, coast guard vessels. New compressors with dehydration units for diesel submarine and surface ships such as St. Petersburg, Yasen, Lada, Borey with high vibration and noise characteristics have been developed. Among the atomic torpedo and missile carriers, these are dozens of Shark, Antei and Bars boats.
