Hydrocarbon-based water Repellent RS-502
| Name of the indicator | Norm |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Homogeneous dark brown viscous liquid |
| Flash point, °C, not lower | 70 |
| Pour point, °C, not higher | -25 |
| Density at 20°C, kg/m3, not less than | 930-980 |
RS-502, as a reagent for changing the wettability of the solid phase, hydrophobizes the particles of the weighting agent and drilled particles, thereby preventing their adhesion and sedimentation, increases temperature and rheological stability, the level of water loss and emulsion stability, and also increases the solution's resistance to contaminants.
The concentration of the reagent when preparing a fresh solution varies from 2.85 to 11.4 kg/m3; for daily treatment of the solution (if necessary), approximately 0.18 kg/m3 is required.
RS-502 belongs to toxicity class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007 and exhibits mild local irritant effects when in contact with skin and mucous membranes of the eyes. Its autoignition temperature is not lower than 300°C.
