Electroslag remelting (ESR) ingots from 130mm to 510mm, grade N, are used as blanks for products intended for subsequent mechanical processing. They are used to manufacture machine parts and pipeline components. They are used in mechanical engineering; aircraft construction; shipbuilding; energy; and other industries. The ingots are produced using the classic electroslag remelting method. This involves remelting the steel in a bath of conductive slag, which is heated by an electric current. This manufacturing method reduces the concentration of oxygen, sulfur, and non-metallic inclusions in the ingot, and eliminates unnecessary impurities. ESR ingots have increased strength and are resistant to corrosion and high temperatures. They have a uniform, non-porous structure. The quality characteristics of the blanks are verified using visual assessment, measuring instruments, and testing. Based on the inspection results, a batch of rolled metal products is assigned a certificate and a passport.
