As a strong oxidant used for disinfecting water systems and especially for combating legionella or infestation with biofilm, the use of hydrogen peroxide should be carefully controlled. The biocide breaks down into its components very quickly and loses its disinfection effect accordingly. Properly dosed, it prevents the spread of infections including Legionella.
