Description:
The DWCRT (Casing Running Tool) is a mechanically operated casing running tool that attaches to the Top Drive quill for making up, rotating, reciprocating, filling, circulating, and drilling while running casing. The tool uses controlled movements of the Top Drive to rotate and reciprocate casing for makeup/breakout operations, hoisting, and cementing operations. The modular design uses the same head assembly for different casing sizes from 4-1/2" to 20", reducing the number of tools required in a fleet. The built-in compensator allows casing travel during thread makeup. The locking mechanism allows the tool to be set and released with minimal torque and eliminates the need for top drive set-down weight. The tool features an easy "unset" feature allowing release without breaking top drive connection. The DWCRT reduces the tools and personnel needed to run casing compared to conventional techniques. The operating temperature range is -40°F to 180°F.
