SMART 400

The SMART 400 is a new universal pneumatic seed drill developed by SMS Agro, introduced as a world premiere at Agritechnica 2025. It is a hydraulically folding semi-mounted machine with a 4-meter working width, designed for medium-sized farms. The seeding system is located at the front of the frame, while the rear part consists of two freely suspended wings for excellent ground contour following. The frames are equipped with two rows of cutting discs with coulters (32 working units in total) and a support roller. In transport position, the wings fold hydraulically perpendicular to the machine frame. The machine is equipped with a chassis that, in working position, is lifted and effectively loads the rear part of the machine. The SMART 400 features fully hydraulic operation, including working depth adjustment (1–10 cm) and harrow height control. It is primarily designed for establishing and overseeding grasslands, but its wide range of equipment also allows it to perform field operations and sow most common crops.
