6kVA Homemade Gasoline Generator Portable Generator

The EX8000 is a portable gasoline-fuelled generating set with a rated output of 6.0 kW continuous (6.5 kW maximum) at 50 Hz and 6.5 kW continuous (7.0 kW maximum) at 60 Hz. It is driven by a four-stroke OHV EX420 gasoline engine with a displacement of 420 cc and a rated power of 15 hp. The alternator is brushless and fitted with an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), which holds the output voltage stable as the load changes. The engine converts the chemical energy of gasoline into mechanical rotation, and the alternator converts that rotation into single-phase alternating current at 110 V or 220-240 V, with an additional 12 V DC outlet rated at 8.3 A. A 25 L fuel tank provides approximately 8 hours of running at 50 Hz and 7 hours at 60 Hz at 75 percent load. Starting is by recoil pull-starter or by electric starter with battery, and a low oil alert protects the engine from running with insufficient lubricant. A wheel and handle kit allows the unit to be moved by one person, and the enclosed arrangement reduces operating noise. Typical applications are backup power for houses and small shops, supply for power tools and lighting on construction or outdoor sites, and power in locations without access to the grid.
