LY1600 Series Gas Generator Set

The LY1600 Series is a 50 Hz gas-fueled generator set built for continuous power generation from natural gas and a range of alternative gaseous fuels. The series is offered in application-specific models covering natural gas, associated petroleum gas, low-concentration coal bed methane, biogas, industrial gas, biomass gas, blast furnace gas and coal-to-gas, with electrical output ratings from 1,100 kW to 1,600 kW. Its spark-ignition gas engine uses a 170 mm cylinder bore and precision core components, and is coupled with a British Stamford generator and a Swiss ABB turbocharger. Electrical efficiency ranges from 37.5% to 42.1%, while total efficiency reaches up to 88.2% depending on the fuel application. The generator set includes innovative circuit control technology and an advanced digital control system for monitoring and operation. It is suitable for utility-scale power plants, industrial captive power, biogas and landfill-gas projects, and other distributed generation applications. A reference installation in Inner Mongolia uses 22 x LY1600 units on industrial gas and has a power output of 26.4 MW; it was commissioned in 2022. Final output can vary with gas quality, air pressure, calorific value, operating environment and personnel operation level.
