LY2616 Series Gas Generator Set

The LY2616 Series is a gas-fuelled generating set that pairs a spark-ignition gas engine with an AC alternator to produce 2.5–4.0 MW of electrical power at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. It is offered for stationary industrial power generation and can be configured for natural gas, associated petroleum gas, high-concentration coal-bed methane, biogas, industrial gas, blast furnace gas and coal-to-gas. In 50 Hz trim the series delivers 2,700–4,000 kW depending on fuel, with electrical efficiency from 35.8% to 42.0%, thermal efficiency from 46.0% to 48.6% and total efficiency up to 88.0%. The 60 Hz variants produce 2,500–3,700 kW with electrical efficiency of 35.6–41.5% and total efficiency up to 87.3%. The published ratings reference ISO 8525-1 and ISO 3046-1 at 10 kV generator voltage and cos phi 1.0, with NOx emissions of ≤500 mg/Nm³ in 5% O₂ dry exhaust. The package is supported by LIYU Remote Asset Monitoring together with maintenance and spare-parts programmes. A reference installation in Inner Mongolia operates 22 x LY1600 engines for 26.4 MW on industrial gas, commissioned in 2022. Typical applications include base-load power plants, oilfield associated-gas utilisation, landfill and sewage-biogas plants, and industrial captive power.
