During the extraction and transportation of oil and oil products (gasoline, fuel), the atmosphere is polluted by hydrocarbons mainly as a result of accidental emissions and fumes. Losses from evaporation occur during storage, transportation, emptying of tanks and transport tanks. Particularly large losses are caused by the evaporation of flammable oil products (gasoline, fuel) from tanks in commodity parks.
Overview:

As you know, oil is a complex mixture of a very large number of individual hydrocarbon components. During evaporation, the lighter fractions, such as methane, propane, ethane, butane, isobutane, etc. are lost in the initial stage. They are called VOCs — volatile organic compounds.

Losses of petroleum products (gasoline, fuel) that occur during their transportation, storage, reception and dispensing can conditionally be divided into natural, operational and emergency.
