Description:
With over 40 million operating hours and more than 1,300 units shipped, the LM6000 offers 99%+ start and operational reliability and 98% availability. Its 5-minute fast start allows operators to differentiate their dispatch capability, and its dual-fuel capabilities provides fuel flexibility and helps customers meet emissions limits. Aeros like our LM6000 are built for high cycling capability, which allows customers to get up and running—and on the grid—quickly. With around five minutes to ramp up from start-up to full power, typical medium-speed reciprocating engines have a ramp rate of about 5 MW/min, but aeroderivative gas turbines have a nominal ramp rate of around 50 MW/min, providing a much faster frequency control response for better grid support. Our SPRINT* solution boosts engine performance using a spray intercooling design that increases the mass flow by cooling the air during the compression process. The system is based on an atomized water spray injected through spray nozzles. The water flow rate is metered, using the appropriate engine control schedules. SPRINT* injection points are based on turbine inlet temperature and automatically controlled.
Overview:
  • The LM6000 allows you to operate on a wide variety of fuels—including natural gas, LPG (propane and butane), isopentane, ethanol, diesel, and Coke Oven gas.
  • Universal and modular packaging gives the LM6000 a smaller footprint and allows for faster installation—in as little as 3 months for simple cycle and 12 months for combined cycle configurations—the fastest installation time in our history.
  • Aeros like our LM6000 are built for high cycling capability, which allows customers to get up and running—and on the grid—quickly.
  • With over 1,300 units shipped and 40 million combined operating hours, the LM6000 family has more operating experience than any other aeroderivative gas turbine greater than 40 MW.
