Single-girder Overhead Travelling crane

Single-girder overhead travelling cranes have a lifting capacity of 1 ... 10 t. The bridge is made of two types from rolled elements (I-beam) or with a tubular section. A control cabin can be installed on each of these crane types, but at present this type of control can only be found on double-girder cranes. As a rule, the crane is controlled from a pendant or radio-controlled remote control. Single-girder overhead cranes with spans of 4.5 ... 16.5 m have an I-beam bridge. For spans over 10.5 m, the bridge is reinforced with struts. To increase the load-bearing capacity of the crane, the bridge can be made with an extended beam, and the upper chord with reinforcement. To increase the height of the hoist, the span beam is installed on stands. To increase stability and better perception of lateral loads, the bridge is reinforced with struts. In cranes with a tubular bridge, the structural height of the crane is slightly increased due to the large height of the tubular bridge. The tubular bridge of the cranes is characterized by increased corrosion resistance, therefore these cranes are recommended for outdoor work. The crane bridge has a pipe and is a T-shaped section obtained by cutting an I-beam. The T-shaped section is connected to the pipe by a system of trapezoidal gussets. The lower narrower sections of the gussets are welded to the wall of the T-shaped section. The upper sections of the adjacent gussets are bent in opposite directions, which ensures the spatial rigidity of the T-shaped section suspension. The side faces of these sections are flanged, and the upper edges are welded to the pipe. By varying the height of the gussets, it is possible to change the height, and, consequently, the bearing capacity of the section. Cranes with a tubular bridge, having a relatively large windward area, with spans of 16.5 and 22.5 m, as well as those installed outdoors, are equipped with four drives. In the case of a central travel mechanism (cranes with spans of 4.5 and 7.5 m), the drive is mounted on one end beam. The gearbox is installed on the extended end of the travel wheel shaft.
