The SSV Catarina is a 6th generation, ultra‑deepwater, DP‑equipped semi‑submersible drilling rig owned and operated by Ventura Offshore. It was originally built in 2010 by Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. The rig is designed for harsh environment operations and is capable of working in water depths up to 10,000 feet and drilling to 40,000 feet. It is currently under a long‑term contract with Petrobras, operating in the Búzios field in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The SSV Catarina is a sister unit to the SSV Victoria, sharing the same design and many operational characteristics.
