A roller reamer is a downhole tool (BHA, Bottom Hole Assembly ) used in oil and gas well drilling operations. Its primary function is to enlarge (reame) and condition the diameter of the wellbore just drilled by the drill bit. This tool contains hardened cutting cones or rollers (usually three, evenly spaced) mounted on solid bodies. By rotating and being pushed against the wellbore wall, these rollers remove irregularities, firm the hole, and correct any restrictions in the wellbore diameter.
