Description:
TechnipFMC offers a broad range of flexible pipe systems for subsea field developments, covering engineering, manufacturing, installation, and retrieval. Pioneered by TechnipFMC in the early 1970s, over 12,000 km of high‑pressure flexible pipe has been installed worldwide. The pipes are versatile, corrosion‑resistant, compliant, easy to install, retrieve and reuse, making them environmentally friendly. Internal diameters range from 2″ to 22″, and the pipes are used for floating facilities, shallow to ultra‑deepwater markets.
A flexible pipe consists of multiple independent layers: leak‑proof thermoplastic barriers and helically wound corrosion‑resistant steel wires. This modular construction provides high‑pressure resistance and excellent bending characteristics. Flexibility allows bending of an 8″ ID pipe to a radius of two meters or less, enabling dynamic risers and spooling on reels for quick transport. Installation speeds average 500 meters per hour, with continuous lengths reducing subsea connections.
Overview:
The key benefits include saving up to 15 hours per casing run by removing “waiting on cement” from the critical path, fewer trips, and less BOP testing. This accelerates drilling programs while maintaining full well containment and ground‑level operations. Complete well control is ensured through the full opening safety valve (FOSV).
The service is highly versatile, applying to all casing designs and functioning across multiple systems. It utilizes industry‑leading elastomeric seals. For more information, customers can contact a TechnipFMC sales representative or email the provided address.
