Flexible pipes

TechnipFMC offers a broad range of flexible pipe systems for subsea field developments, covering engineering, manufacturing, installation, and retrieval. Pioneered by TechnipFMC in the early 1970s, over 12,000 km of high‑pressure flexible pipe has been installed worldwide. The pipes are versatile, corrosion‑resistant, compliant, easy to install, retrieve and reuse, making them environmentally friendly. Internal diameters range from 2″ to 22″, and the pipes are used for floating facilities, shallow to ultra‑deepwater markets. A flexible pipe consists of multiple independent layers: leak‑proof thermoplastic barriers and helically wound corrosion‑resistant steel wires. This modular construction provides high‑pressure resistance and excellent bending characteristics. Flexibility allows bending of an 8″ ID pipe to a radius of two meters or less, enabling dynamic risers and spooling on reels for quick transport. Installation speeds average 500 meters per hour, with continuous lengths reducing subsea connections.
