Brabender Quadrumat Junior

The Brabender Quadrumat Junior is a precision laboratory roller mill designed for milling grain samples for subsequent quality analyses. From the hopper, the prepared grain sample flows through an adjustable feed gate over the feed roll to the first pair of break rolls and then, without intermediate sifting, to the second pair of break rolls. The second roll of the first break roll unit acts as the first roll of the second break roll unit. Subsequently, the material goes directly to the middlings reduction section, where the second roll of the second break head operates against the fine corrugation of the roll of the middlings reduction section. The mill is suitable for grinding wheat, spelt, rye, rice, and barley. A modified version is available for grinding durum wheat to semolina. The mill can be used for standard tests including Amylograph, Farinograph, Extensograph, Alveograph, Falling Number, and others. An optional bran duster can increase the yield by some 10% and adjust the ash content to match commercial flours. The mill features a new design with easy-to-clean surfaces, easier removal of the round sifter, larger drawers for flour and bran, and complies with current safety standards.
