Novandino Litio SpA
Novandino Litio is a Chilean joint venture between SQM (Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile) and Codelco (Chile's state-owned copper miner), formalized in 2025 to develop lithium production in the Atacama Salt Flat. The company produces high-purity lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide from brine extracted from the Atacama Salt Flat, processed at its plants in Antofagasta. Novandino is positioned as one of the world's leading lithium producers, with a commitment to low carbon footprint and sustainability. The company serves global markets with products for lithium-ion batteries (portable equipment and electric vehicles), glass manufacturing, ceramics, specialty glasses, lubricants, greases, catalysts, and industrial dyes and pigments. In 2026, the company announced an expansion project ("Salar Futuro") aimed at increasing annual capacity to 470,000 tons of lithium carbonate equivalent and extending operations until 2060.
