AVR Machinery
AVR Machinery is a Belgian family-owned agricultural machinery manufacturer headquartered in Roeselare, West Flanders. The company was founded in 1849 when Pieter Vansteenkiste established a forge for agricultural and horticultural hand tools. Over 175 years, AVR has evolved from a blacksmith's forge into a world-leading manufacturer of potato harvesting and planting equipment. In 1986, AVR produced its first 2-row self-propelled bunker harvester (ARB 230). In 2006, the company launched the first 4-row self-propelled Puma harvester. In 2003, the Nollet family reacquired AVR Machinery. The company has expanded through strategic acquisitions: Themilco (potato harvesters, receiving hoppers) in 1987, Rumptstad (cultivators, haulm toppers) in 2002, Underhaug (planting activities) in 2012, and Climax (crop handling equipment) in 2013. Today, AVR employs approximately 275 people internationally and collaborates with more than 100 dealers in 50 countries. The company manufactures a full range of potato machinery from planting bed preparation to harvesting and storing.
