Fabdec Ltd (Fabdec Group)
Fabdec Ltd is a British manufacturer and global supplier of stainless steel products headquartered in Ellesmere, Shropshire. The company was founded in November 1960 as a joint venture between Dairy Equipment Co USA and Fullwood and Bland Ellesmere to manufacture refrigerated bulk milk tanks for the UK dairy market. Over more than 60 years, Fabdec has grown into a diversified engineering group designing, manufacturing and supplying energy-efficient milk cooling systems, high-quality stainless steel unvented water heaters for domestic and commercial use, brewery vessels, and heat recovery systems. The company also provides a full range of spares globally for all its products. Fabdec received the Queens Award for Export in 1992 and has been accredited with ISO 9001: Quality Certificate. The group's headquarters are at its manufacturing site in Ellesmere, with additional sales offices and distribution centres in Germany. Cookes Fabdec Ltd, also based in Ellesmere, installs and services milk cooling systems. Fabdec has a history of notable engineering achievements, including manufacturing fuel cylinders for Per Lindstrand and Richard Branson's Atlantic (1987) and Pacific (1991) hot air balloon crossings, and for Steve Fossett's successful circumnavigation of the globe in a hot air balloon (2002).
