Centrifugal pumps are used for applications requiring high flow rates and smooth operation. Compared to displacement pumps, they offer lower operating costs and reduced wear. Typical applications include water and wastewater handling, mud transport, chemical industry processes and refinery applications. Different designs and packings are available depending on discharge rates and pumped media.
