PBL® Split Flow Dart System

The PBL® Split Flow Dart System was developed for use with the PBL® Multiple Activation Bypass System to allow a pre-calculated amount of drilling or completion fluid to pass through the PBL® Tool and on to the BHA below, while the remaining fluid is bypassed out of the PBL Tool ports to facilitate efficient hole cleaning. The system features an interchangeable jet nozzle installed in a conical dart system, with the PBL ports also equipped with interchangeable jet nozzles. The flow is divided between the BHA and the ports to the annulus at a predetermined split. The system enables pumping above MWD/LWD or drilling motor limits to continuously clean the hole while drilling, and allows operation of MWD/LWD, RSS, or motor in a more optimal flow range. The tool’s side ports automatically close when the pumps are turned off, enhancing safety and preventing U-tubing issues.
