Afipsky Refinery

Afipsky oil refinery was founded in 1963 in the urban-type settlement of Afipsky, Seversky district, Krasnodar Territory. The first products of the enterprise were A-66 gasoline and diesel fuel.

In the Soviet Union, on the basis of the Afipsky refinery, a project was first implemented to produce large quantities of benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbons by processing condensate extracted from the bowels of the earth. In 1978, the enterprise put into operation a complex of process units for the production of individual aromatics: benzene, toluene, xylene and high-octane gasolines.

Due to the country's high demand for gasoline and high-quality diesel fuel, in the mid-90s, the plant was redesigned for oil processing. In 2010, the Afipsky Refinery was taken over by the NefteGazIndustriya company, after which a large-scale reconstruction of production began.

Today, the production capacities of the Afipsky refinery allow processing 6 million tons of raw materials coming through pipelines and railway transport. Main products: stable gas gasoline, diesel fuel, gas condensate distillates, heavy oil residues, sulfur.

The Atyrau Refinery is the only provider of services for water supply, wastewater treatment, electricity transit to the Afipsky settlement and nearby settlements, and supplies heat to the industrial zone of the Seversky District.

Afipsky Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in the south of Russia. The number of employees is about 1500 people. The plant has repeatedly been recognized as the winner of the "Leader of the Kuban Economy" competition among enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the region, "Review-competition for the best organization of work in the field of labor protection in organizations of the Krasnodar Territory", the all-Russian competition "Russian organization of high social efficiency".

The management plans include the construction of modern technological facilities, which will allow increasing the oil refining capacity from 6 to 9 million tons per year in two stages, as well as increasing the refining depth from 77% to 93%. The implementation of the project to modernize the Afipsky Refinery will also increase the productivity of the enterprise, attract investments to the region, and create conditions for providing the domestic market with additional volumes of automotive fuel.
