UH-3 Unihead® Wellhead System

The UH-1 Unihead® from TechnipFMC is a standardized, split‑bowl drill‑through wellhead system designed to reduce non‑productive time and total cost of ownership. It is available in 11″ and 13⅜″ nominal sizes with working pressures of 5,000 psi and 10,000 psi, and a temperature rating from −75°F to 250°F. The system uses proprietary elastomer sealing technology (S and FS seals) and retains packoffs with external thread (ET) lockdown screws. All primary casing hangers, packoffs, and completions are installed under BOP control, minimizing BOP manipulation and improving rig crew safety. The UH-1 features a split compact design that allows high flexibility and multiple casing schemes. Its upper connection is an API flange, reducing the need for special BOP crossovers. The lower connection can be slip‑on‑weld, threaded, or sliploc. The system shares common tooling with conventional wellhead products, enabling easy transition. Compared to a conventional spooled system, the UH‑1 saves an average of 20 hours of rig time per well (44 hours conventional vs. 20 hours with UH‑1).
