The bit shock absorber is designed to reduce the shock load on the bit. ROP is increased by reducing the vibration of the bottom hole assembly and ensuring that the optimal rotor speed is applied. By isolating vibration from the BHA caused by the bit, the shock absorber reduces drill string failures due to fatigue failure.

The shock absorber is designed to perform effectively in any combination of WOB, WOB, mud weight, or hole depth. It is not affected by the closing force of the hydrostatic pressure in the wellbore or the force of the differential pressure action.
