Drilltec / Kalex Tungsten Bits, Shoes and hole openers

Asahi produces Drilltec and Kalex tungsten chisels, shoes and sliding drill reamers designed for soft rock drilling. Our shoes and chisels are available in all standard sizes.

Asahi also manufactures Drilltec guide bits for drilling horizontal workings in coal seams. This design provides a 16 mm metric thread on the front of the bit to provide its guiding function. In addition, the bits are reinforced with large particles of irregular shape and equipped with flushing grooves with large holes.

The standard sizes for guide bits are 65 mm and 80 mm with AW / AWJ threaded connection. At the request of the customer execution in other sizes and with other threaded connections is possible.

To obtain a significant expansion of the borehole diameter, Drilltec sliding drill reamers are used, which are mounted behind the guide bit. A complex of chisels and a sliding expander is used for drilling with low torque.

The complex, consisting of a guide bit (65 mm) and a sliding drill reamer (80 mm) of 80 mm, has shown its effectiveness in drilling horizontal workings in a coal seam, remaining within its limits, although deviations towards the roof or the bottom of the seam are typical for an ordinary tool.
