The liquid-ring compressor КЖК 1800 / 1,5 is designed for pumping and supplying chlorine gas to production lines at metallurgical, chemical and other enterprises.

Design description

The compressor is a horizontal double-acting machine. Structurally, it consists of a rotor with two impellers, a housing with an oval inner working surface, two sidewalls with cones and stuffing box seals, remote bearing bearings. The cones have two suction and discharge windows, connected by internal channels through the sidewalls with the suction and discharge pipes of the compressor.

The working fluid of the compressor is sulfuric acid with a concentration of 92.5 - 96%.

When the rotor rotates in the casing, sulfuric acid between the blades is driven by centrifugal force to the working surface of the casing, creating a suction process through the suction windows of the cones, and when approaching a narrow part of the oval surface, chlorine with excess sulfuric acid is pushed out of the compressor through the discharge windows of the cones. For one revolution of the rotor, two cycles of operation occur.

Compressed chlorine gas from the compressor with a part of sulfuric acid enters the acid separator, where sulfuric acid and chlorine are separated by reducing the speed of movement and changing the direction of movement of chlorine.

Chlorine leaves the acid separator from above, passes the droplet eliminator and is sent to the distribution comb, where it is distributed to consumers.

Sulfuric acid from the bottom of the acid separator under pressure passes through a shell-and-tube refrigerator and enters the compressor inlet.

The sulfuric acid level in the acid separator is monitored through a sight glass.

Seal

A packing is used as a shaft seal.
