Overhead crane beam

A single-girder overhead travelling crane, also known as a beam crane, is a universal lifting and transport mechanism that has found application in many industries. An overhead travelling crane consists of one span and two cross beams. Loads are moved on a hoist, which is suspended on the lower part of the span beam and is controlled by a push-button control panel from the floor or by a remote radio control. An overhead travelling crane is one of the simplest and most frequently used lifting mechanisms. It is usually manufactured with a lifting capacity of no more than 10 tons and has a short span beam. At the same time, an overhead travelling crane provides a large service area, i.e., practically along the entire length of the span beam, which allows moving loads along the walls of the room. Thus, an overhead travelling crane is the only one among overhead travelling cranes that has consoles, which is undoubtedly its main advantage. Another advantage of the overhead type of crane is that the crane moves along the workshop on monorail tracks with an I-beam profile, which in turn can be attached directly to the ceiling of the building without constructing crane track supports. The hoist and the crane movement mechanism have the same operating principle.
