GTU-2.5P is developed on the basis of the gas generator of the most reliable engine in the history of the domestic aviation industry D-30, created for mainline passenger aircraft type Tu-134. Gas turbine units with a nominal power of 2.5 MW are used as drives of alternating current electric generators as part of block-container power units "Ural-2500", mobile modernized power plants PAES-2500M and EG-2500M. Serial production has been since 1995.
