Polystyrene

Polystyrene is an economical alternative to other transparent plastics, primarily acrylic (plexiglass). Polystyrene sheets can have both a smooth and a corrugated surface. Also, general-purpose polystyrene can be produced in a wide range of colors and in other formats by special order. General-purpose polystyrene, GPPS (trade name Plazgal) is a plastic that is usually transparent, externally indistinguishable from monolithic polycarbonate or acrylic (plexiglass). Transparent polystyrene sheets are produced from raw materials with a small percentage of additives.
