LM 1483 Series Linear DC Servomotor

The LM 1483 series is a linear DC servomotor designed for high‑precision positioning applications. It converts electrical energy directly into linear motion without the need for mechanical transmission components such as belts or lead screws. The motor consists of a stationary forcer (stator) and a moving rod (slider) with a magnetic core. The housing is made of non‑magnetic metal, and the rod is supported by polymer sleeve bearings, which provide low friction and quiet operation. The direction of movement is electronically reversible, allowing bi‑directional control with simple signal changes. The LM 1483 is available in four standard stroke lengths: 20 mm, 40 mm, 60 mm, and 80 mm, each with different rod lengths and total mass. It delivers a continuous force of 6.2 N and a peak force of 18.4 N, with a force constant of 12.44 N/A. Maximum speed ranges from 2.1 m/s (for the 80 mm stroke) to 3.4 m/s (for the 20 mm stroke), and maximum acceleration reaches up to 213 m/s². The motor operates on DC voltage <75 V and requires an external commutation controller (such as the FAULHABER MC 3603 series) for proper function. It is designed to work with a wide range of FAULHABER drive electronics and accessories. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to +125 °C, making it suitable for demanding industrial and medical environments. Repeatability is specified at 80 μm, with accuracy ranging from 200 to 260 μm depending on stroke length.
