K5 Series Rip Cooled Motors (KA5 Series)

The Schorch KA5 series is a range of high-voltage, rippled-cooled three-phase asynchronous motors designed for industrial applications. The motors feature a robust cast-iron frame with an IP55 degree of protection as standard, making them suitable for challenging environments including outdoor and hazardous area installations. The series covers frame sizes 400 to 560, with power outputs from 355 kW to 2,240 kW and 2 to 12 poles. The motors are rated for continuous duty (S1) with Class F insulation (temperature rise to Class B) and can be used for both direct on-line and inverter operation. The KA5 series achieves high operational reliability with low noise and vibration levels, and is certified to CE standards. Applications include large compressors, pumps, fans, mills, conveyors, and crushers in the chemical, petrochemical, cement, mining, and power generation industries.
