Gruenberg's custom top‑loading ovens are specifically engineered for the oil and gas industry to simulate down‑hole thermal conditions encountered during drilling operations. These rugged heavy-duty ovens reach maximum temperatures of 1,000°F and are ideal for calibrating electronic logging instruments, performing burn‑in tests on drilling equipment, and conducting thermal testing of down‑hole tools and sensors. The ovens feature a top‑loading configuration with an "L"‑shaped lid, rear‑hinged and counter‑weighted for easy manual operation, allowing heavy equipment to be loaded by crane. This design is particularly suited for handling large, heavy components that cannot be easily loaded through a front door. The ovens are built on heavy-duty dollies with casters for easy relocation and can be used directly at the drill site. Standard capacity is 27 cubic feet. The temperature range is from 150°F above ambient to 500°F, with uniformity of ±10°F of set‑point. The ovens incorporate heavy-duty fully welded structural steel frames and CHIL construction to minimise heat transfer. Insulation is 4-inches thick on the main surfaces and 3-inches thick on the ends, with an 18-gauge aluminized steel interior and 18-gauge cold-rolled steel exterior finished in painted blue. The heating system utilises Incoloy® sheathed seamless tubular heaters, and a high-capacity horizontal airflow system with a centrifugal blower wheel ensures maximum temperature uniformity. Differential air pressure switches alert the user to loss of airflow. Standard electrical equipment includes a NEMA 1 control box, electric heat rated at 480V/3Ph/60Hz, 42.8 kW, an airflow switch, SCR protection, lighted power and heat switches, and an RS‑232 communication port.
