Description:
The Corrtherm Carburizing Pit Furnace is a top‑loading electric pit furnace designed for high‑performance carburizing, carbonitriding, normalizing, annealing, and tool steel hardening at temperatures up to 1850°F. This furnace features thick cross‑section, low‑voltage Corrtherm heating elements that completely eliminate the need for a retort, even in high‑carbon atmospheres. The absence of a retort allows for increased part size, improved temperature uniformity, and eliminates cracking and other maintenance problems inherent with retorts. Designed for use with large and heavy loads, the furnace offers excellent uniformity, low power consumption, fast cycle times, and is ideal for cell/JIT installations. It includes automatic nitrogen purge, a cover‑mounted circulating fan, gas‑tight construction, lightweight ceramic fiber insulation, and long‑life Corrtherm® elements.
