Description:
CoorsTek manufactures high‑performance technical ceramic components for extreme downhole drilling environments using Dura‑Z™ zirconia — a uniquely formulated MgO partially stabilized zirconia specifically engineered for durability in severe‑service conditions. Dura‑Z™ is a transformation‑toughened zirconia offering superior strength, toughness, wear, and corrosion resistance. Customer testing has confirmed that Dura‑Z™ material is 40% stronger, 60% tougher, and has a fatigue endurance limit 70% higher than the current CoorsTek TTZ material. The material is ideal for mud motor bearings, rotary steerable system (RSS) mechanical seals, and logging‑while‑drilling (LWD) and measurement‑while‑drilling (MWD) tool components. Each component is manufactured to customer designs using precision grinding, brazing, or heat shrink joining technologies
