CoorsTek provides industrial‑grade valves and valve components made from AD‑96 alumina, a 96% aluminum oxide ceramic that offers excellent wear resistance, electrical insulation, dielectric strength, and low dielectric loss. AD‑96 alumina is widely used in general‑purpose and specialised applications, including ball valves (with ceramic balls and seats made from abrasion‑, erosion‑, and corrosion‑resistant alumina), plug valves (made from high‑purity zirconia for long wear), gate valves, needle valves, and check valves. The material is used in applications involving lime slurries, cat cracker slurries, corrosive acid slurries, high‑pressure steam, aqua regia, sodium hydroxide slurries, and flue gas.
