Tashkent Mechanical Plant (TMZ)
Tashkent Mechanical Plant (TMZ) is a joint-stock company located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Its history begins in 1941, when the aircraft factory was evacuated from the Moscow region to Tashkent. The factory was known as the Tashkent Aviation Production Association named after V.P. Chkalov (TAPOiCh), producing Il-76 transport aircraft and Il-114 passenger aircraft. In 2012, aircraft production ceased, and the enterprise was reorganized and renamed Tashkent Mechanical Plant (TMZ) in 2014. Since May 1, 2015, the enterprise has been part of the state-owned joint-stock railway company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways). Today, the factory specializes in mechanical production, manufacturing aircraft parts, components for the oil and gas industry, railway parts, hardware, and various metal products. The plant covers 141 hectares and employs over 2,500 people. The company is certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee for aircraft maintenance and production.
