Motogen Co. is an Iranian electric motor manufacturer, established in 1973. The company began operations as Iran GOULD ELECTRIC, manufacturing evaporative cooler motors under licence from American Westinghouse. In 1975, following a share purchase by the Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation of Iran, the company was renamed Motogen. In 1985, Motogen began manufacturing industrial electromotors up to 18.5 kW, using IEC and DIN standards, in both single‑phase and three‑phase types. In 1990, the company changed from a private joint stock company to a public joint stock company. Today, Motogen is one of the largest electric motor manufacturers in the Middle East, employing 500–1,000 people and exporting to neighbouring countries, Africa, and Europe. The company also has a presence in Italy through Motogen Italia Srl, located in San Lorenzo in Campo. Motogen is capable of manufacturing a wide variety of single and three phase electromotors, and also special electric motors according to the requests of customers.
