Founded in 1872 by John Ransom, the company got its start providing supplies, instruments, and furniture to barbers, doctors, and dentists. His brother-in-law, Thaddeus Randolph, later became partner. Today, the company provides innovative product technology, process knowledge, and technical expertise to foundries, dental labs, and jewelers. Ransom & Randolph serves aerospace, defense, industrial gas turbine, automotive, commercial, jewelry, dental, and art casting markets. The company developed the first high performance binder (Primcote® binder), the first coat reducing binder (Deluxcote® concentrate), and comprehensive solutions (Matrixcote® system). Ransom & Randolph is headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, with an additional office in Rötha, Germany.
