The EMP1-13L40 is a liquid‑cooled permanent‑magnet synchronous reluctance motor (PMSRM) developed for off‑highway electrification. It is part of Bosch Rexroth’s scalable eLION high‑voltage portfolio and is designed for traction drives, pump drives for hydraulic work functions, and generator operation. The motor is optimized for high power density, delivering up to 50% more power in the same installation space compared to previous generations. The EMP1 series is available in five lengths, covering a continuous power range from 30 to 175 kW. Key functional features include a robust design meeting off‑highway environmental requirements (protection class IP6K7/IP6K9K, wide temperature range from –40°C to +100°C, shock resistance up to 50g, vibration resistance up to 10g). The motor features a resolver as a robust feedback sensor and standard cooling with water‑glycol 50:50 mixture at a nominal flow rate of 20 l/min.
