MGT 10" 40K High Torque Power Tong

The MGT 10" 40K is a hydraulically operated power tong capable of making up and breaking out tubular connections with a maximum torque of 40,000 ft-lbs. The tong is designed for use on locations with limited working areas where reduced manual handling and running performance is critical. The unique sliding-head jaw design enables compensation for nominal pipe diameter variances while reducing the selection of jaws required for diverse pipe sizes. The tong features a door switch rotation interlock system for operator safety. The compact and lightweight design reduces handling risks and improves running times. The tong is available in hydraulic shift (80-1040-10) and manual shift (80-1040-11) configurations. When combined with a McCoy Global Back-up (80-1040-21), the system provides precise control of connection makeup with safety enhancements. The tong features a two-speed gearbox for high-speed threading and low-speed high-torque makeup. The brake band system provides smooth jaw cam action. The tong is designed for pipe sizes from 4.5" to 10".
